Kohunlich Ruins

Has anyone been to these ruins and are they worth the long ride? We are really interested in going to them, the masks look so cool in the pictures I've seen. I don't mind the long drive if the ruins are good.

 

Anyone been there that can tell us about them? Thanks

I haven't been there but my parents went there when they cruised. They haven't seen other ruins before but they really enjoyed it and said the masks were impressive. They did an excursion which was both Kohunlich and the other ruins nearby which the name of is escaping me at the moment. From the pictures it looked really cool, I'm hoping to get there someday myself.

Just be sure to either book this through your ship's excursion or make sure you'll be in port long enough to do this. Native Choice recommends for cruisers that their ship be in port at least 9 hours before booking this tour.

Thanks, I looked it up and Carnival does offer it as a 7 hour tour and we will be in port 8 hours I think. I figured it would be best to book thru them just in case.

We did it in 2007...loved it...worth the drive...Very impressive ruins...
