mystichill Posted August 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 28, 2010 Can anyone reccomend which shore excursion to take in Cairo? Is the overnight worth the $$$$$$$$$$$$?
lilacbirman Posted August 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2010 There's lots of information on that on the "Africa" board. We are looking at Holy land in 2012 as well. :)
WeBeGone Posted August 28, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 28, 2010 You will find several good tour companies discussed on the Africa (Egypt) board: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=32 YES, the overnight is worth it, but not booked through Princess. For half the cost, any of the 4-5 companies discussed on the boards will give you a wonderful experience. Personally, I'm a Nile Blue Tours cheerleader. We have used them twice. Once for an overnight from the Star (we had 100 people from our roll call go), and 3 months later we used Nile Blue Tours for a 2 weeks land/Nile cruise trip. FABULOUS. info@nilebluetours.com Just do your homework.
Toto2Kansas Posted August 28, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 28, 2010 Can anyone reccomend which shore excursion to take in Cairo? Is the overnight worth the $$$$$$$$$$$$? The overnite is fabulous, but if you want to spend a lot less, see if your roll call is organizing a private overnite tour. Most roll calls have one and I would have never considered visiting Egypt without it because Cairo is a 4 hour drive (each way) from where the ship docks. The prices are less than half of what the ship charges, and the tours are even better than what the ship offers (less people, more time seeing what you went to see). Enjoy Egypt! Rare cruisemom42 Posted August 28, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 28, 2010 Absolutely recommend both doing an overnight and doing it via private tour. We did the Princess tour on our first visit and found that those who did the private tour had a much better time and saw more than we did. I would have no problems recommending any of the well vetted agencies that are reviewed here on CC on the Africa/Middle East board.
