Allures Port

Recommended Posts

The terminal facilities in Fort Lauderdale that Oasis uses were built with the needs of this class of ship in mind. It is one of the reasons why it works so smoothly. Thus, while these ships could go elsewhere, it would be unlikely that they would unless similar facilities were built in that other port.

RCI agreed to base both Allure and Oasis in Ft.Lauderdale as part of their arrangement with the Ft.Lauderdale Port Authority, to upgrade the terminal facilities needed to properly accommodate ships of their size. The agreement is in effect for several years, at a minimum, so don't expect either ship to redeploy elsewhere for some time to come. In many ways the location is ideal for ships of their size: the modern cruise facility, proximity to a major international airport, close to an interstate highway as well as the Florida Turnpike, and an abundance of hotel rooms in all cost categories.

Oasis will depart Sat and Allure on Sun. they will have the same itineraries but will alternate each week. (oasis on western while Allure on Eastern and then switch the following week). Also they are building up Falmouth Jamaica and will stop there rather than costa maya

One thing to add... The terminal facilities that were specifically designed and built for the Oasis Class are first rate! RCCL spent a lot of time and effort to design the best traffic flow and I will tell you your Oasis or Allure cruise will be the easiest to get on board and debark of any cruise ship or line you have ever sailed. They have it down to a science. Examples - it took us (4 of us) less than ten minutes from the cab to board the Oasis -and two of us debarked at the cruise end and got to the airport and caught the first flight back to Atlanta a few minutes past 8:00 AM for our return home.
