Anyone just off the Grandeur???

Recommended Posts

My husband and I just got off Grandeur this past Thursday. While she doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, Grandeur doesn't need it. The staff alone is worth the price of admission. From Captain Rob Hempstead all the way down to our assistant waitress Tashoy, every single staff member that we came in contact with (Cruise Director John Blair and his wife, assistant Cruise Director Katrina Blair, stateroom attendant Wiko White, Catherine in the casino, Arnold and Samuel in the dining room, Kathrin at the guest services desk, and on and on...) was the most gracious, appreciative, and welcoming staff we have ever experienced on a cruise ship (and this cruise put us at Diamond Plus, so we've cruised often).

I am in the middle of writing a letter to Adam Goldstein praising the unparallelled staff aboard Grandeur of the Seas. We didn't even get off the ship!!! (I heard a rumor that it stopped in Key West and Cozumel.)

For anyone going on Grandeur, you will love it for many reasons, but none can compare to the absolutely fantastic staff.

Enjoy your cruise!!!

Stephie

Thanks Stephie, so great to hear about the wonderful crew!!! I think that the outstanding service that you get on a cruise is one of the best parts. I sure miss all of those ammenities when I get back home, lol!!!!

We are doing the Stingrays and snorkeling in Grand Cayman and going to Nachi Cocum in Cozumel. Getting soooo excited :D

I've done the sting-ray excursion. Had one of those disposable underwater cameras. Got some great photos of the sting-rays and also some other fish waiting in the wings to pick up any stray morsel. Don't let the thought that the rays and sharks are related bother you. One has teeth, and the other can only gum you.

Haha, too funny!!!! I know I will be a little nervous until I get used to it  but I think it will be a blast. We are doing the Rays, Reef and Rum Point with Nativeways. I have heard good things about them here on CC. We have one disposable underwater camera, then we ended up buying a Fuji digital that is waterproof. Really interested to see how well it will work for us.

Hi everyone!!!! We are geading out on the Grandeur on 9-20 for the 5 night to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Getting soooo excited!!! Just wondering if anyone is recently off and can tell what the entertainment was onboard. Any good comedians or anything not to miss?? Also if anyone has copies of the Cruise Compass that they would like to share for the 5 night. Thanks in advance!!!!! :D

Just off the Grandeur today (9/16). I have Cruise Campasses, but no scanner to copy and send them. This was a five day that included Key West, Cozumel, and Coco Cay. First night was the usual welcome aboard show with a late night comic. Second night was the Captain's Welcome Aboard reception and formal night, and the ship's performers in the theater. Third night had a comedy act, Wilde & James. Day four only had a movie in the theater since it was Quest night and the South Pacific Lounge was SRO. And of course day five was the farewell show and another late night comic. The best music was provided by a group called 'Johnny and Take Four'. They usually played in the Centrum, and they also played the Platinum, Diamond, and Diamond Plus reception.

Don't miss the french fries in the Solarium in the afternoon.
