Oosterdam - General Questions

Hi all,

 

We have just booked our first HAL cruise, Thanksgiving week on the "O".

 

I have searched the forum but did not easily find the answers I was looking for.

 

If you will allow a few questions can anyone please answer?

 

1) What times are Early and Main dining on the Oosterdam?

 

2) Is it better to have the lower dining room or the upper? (we will need a table for 8)

 

3) We are booked in an SS cabin (8068) and it is evidently a handicapped cabin. What will we lose out on by having a handicapped cabin?

 

4) Does anyone have experience in getting their cabin reassigned? It is showing that cat. SS are all sold out.

 

Any advice and assistance will be greatly appreciated.

5:45 (upper), 6:15 (lower), 8:00 (Upper), 8:30 (lower)

 

2) Is it better to have the lower dining room or the upper? (we will need a table for 8)

 

"better" is subjective, there are good tables in both areas.

My experience is that staterooms open up all the time. Just keep checking once or twice a day. I am surprised that the HC staterooms were made available this far out anyway.

It turns out we didn't have to wait long. Another SS opened up and our TA moved us without a problem.

Wonderful! Which stateroom did you get?

We got 8072. Just a few doors down and close to the central elevators.

 

I'm looking forward to our first time with HAL. The "O" seems to be a beautiful ship.

 

I'm sure we'll have a barrel of laughs with our barrel of rum !!
