Poker on Board

I enjoy playing poker (Hold'em etc.), but the games in the casino do not look that appealing, based on the excessive rake and the impersonal nature of the game.

 

Do any friendly games get played in the card room? Would it be hard to find players on the Equinox?

 

Would the ship have any problem with the game, assuming chips are used and any exchange of money in done discreetly? I looking for a fun game, not trouble.

We had a nice time playing poker on Galaxy in 2007 with a live dealer but yes, the rake was ridiculous. The next cruise we were on in 2008 had an electronic table and we could not get a game going at all.

 

Honestly- I wouldn't want to risk playing in a private game. I'd rather pay the rake and know it was an honest game and not worry about any irregularities. I hate the PokerPro tables though.

You might want to see if any on the roll call for your cruise would be up for organizing a game.

Thanks for the reply. I am not too concerned with funny business if it is a relatively low stakes game. I suspect a hustler would be looking for a bigger and better target.

 

I am more concerned with the ship breaking up the game. Based on the rakes they take, I doubt they want competition.
