Loralye Posted September 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2010 Hi, we are going on the CP in April. Would love to know 2 things. Your help is appreciated. 1) Is formal attire required in specialty restaurants on "formal nights"? 2) Can you make reservations before cruise for specialty restaurants? If yes, how? Thanks!!! Your help is appreciated. 1) Is formal attire required in specialty restaurants on "formal nights"? 2) Can you make reservations before cruise for specialty restaurants? If yes, how? Thanks!!! The dress code is the same for specialty restaurants as for the main dinning room. Unfortunately, one cannot make reservations prior to boarding the ship. snrlnd Posted September 24, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2010 The dress code is the same for specialty restaurants as for the main dinning room. Unfortunately, one cannot make reservations prior to boarding the ship. This is actually incorrect. The only place formal attire is required is the main dining rooms. This was taken directly from Princess website. When a casual mood calls, you have plenty of choices – even on formal nights. Whether it be one of our specialty restaurants, the 24-hour buffet at the Horizon Court, the pizzeria, burger & hot dog grill, or 24-hour room service, you’re able to choose how you dine with us. As far as making reservations pre cruise, the answer is unfortunately not. The best bet to make sure you get the reservation you want is to call for reservations right after you board. Colo Cruiser Posted September 24, 2010 #7 Share Posted September 24, 2010 Hi, we are going on the CP in April. Would love to know 2 things. Your help is appreciated. 1) Is formal attire required in specialty restaurants on "formal nights"? 2) Can you make reservations before cruise for specialty restaurants? If yes, how? Thanks!!! Caribbean Princess is actually referred to as CB. You can only make a res once onboard. As far as formal dress for specialty restaurants it all depends on the ship regardless of what the website says. We have had to dress up during some visits on some ships and went casual on others. best to check once onboard. ;)
jomf Posted September 26, 2010 #8 Share Posted September 26, 2010 Having just returned I can tell you the the dress code for the speciality restaurants is definitely smart casual on formal nights. We checked before booking the steakhouse as we had not packed any formal wear. It also says this in the brochure and on the website.

This is why it always pays to have a printed copy of the Princess statement with you in case the head waiter gets sticky about your casual dress on formal evenings.
