Where are the turtles?

Is Paynes Beach and Turtle Beach the same beach/area? I am getting a bit confused surfing the net and the threads about this? If they are not the same, which beach is better for swimming out to the turtles? And how far are they from Rockley Beach? Anyone to help my confusion?

The turtles are over on the West coast -that's Paynes Bay and/or Holetown area.

Your "Turtle Bay" sounds like the name of a hotel? -not sure on which coast.

Accra/Rockley Beach are over on the South Coast, a distance of about 8 miles or so from Paynes Bay.

You'll need a taxi to do the to/from thing.

It's not impossible to go early to Paynes Bay, do the turtles and be gone from there by about noon

and zip over to Accra/Rockley(20-25 mins. by taxi) and spend the afternoon on sunny Accra

Even if Paynes Bay is looking cloudy rainy

the South coast will have completely different weather

usually far sunnier than West coast on those dodgy days. ;)

It's a micro-climate thing here on the island.
