ddame Posted September 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2010 We will be on the Star Princess and docking at Cannes this December. Anyone know where is the Star usually docked in Cannes and how long is the walk to the train station?
Rare Hlitner Posted September 26, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2010 No cruise ship docks in Cannes as there is simply no pier. You will be tendered into a small dock located adjacent to the so-called Vieux Port (old Port). If you look at a decent map of Cannes you will see a marina area located at the lower left part of the city. The tender pier is at the lower left corner of that area near the Quai Maxine Laubeuf which runs right into the Blvd Jean Hibert. To put it in practical terms, it is a short walk from the tender pier across a parking lot which puts you right into the city. From there, you can walk anywhere in town (assuming you can walk) and it is about a 25min stroll through town to the train station and a few rental car offices. Anyone know where is the Star usually docked in Cannes and how long is the walk to the train station? The tender boat pier is where you see the boat at the bottom of the map. In the center you see the SNCF-Logo (French Railways). It's about 20-25 minutes walk. You can also walk about 8-12 minutes to a bus stop and take for 1 EUR the bus to the train station. Here you find the way to the bus stop... http://heinbloed-ncl.blogspot.com/2009/11/tag-72-auf-der-norwegian-gem-in-cannes.html Regards HeinBloed
