savarygal Posted October 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2010 Hi there. Sorry if I'm posting this and the answer is elsewhere, but I have searched and cannot find one. We embark out of San Diego port and I'm wondering if, after we leave the ship (8 AM is when they say the ship arrives at port), we will have time to make a 12:30 flight home from the airport. What I guess I'm asking is if 3 1/2 hours is enough time to leave the ship and make a 12:30 flight. We're first time cruisers and have no clue what to expect... plus, we booked a suite and have VIP - whatever bonus that really means for getting on and off the ship. Many thanks in advance! Jenn. Rare Keith1010 Posted October 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2010 Jenn, 12:30 for a flight will work. A couple of related items. 1.Contact the cruise line just to verify that the earliest time they recommend for a flight. 2. Jus in terms of terminlogy when you are getting on the ship the first day people refer to that as embarkation and when you are leaving the ship on the final day of the cruise people refer to that as disembarkation. 3. The time that is shown by the cruise line on the final day can sometimes vary by cruise line. For some cruise lines that might be the time you arrive to the port which I highly doubt this since it is a turn around day meaing that new passengers will get on the ship the same day that those who are on the ship will be departing. Sometmes this time refer to the time that disemabarkation of passengers will commence. Keith
