Gingee Posted October 31, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2010 About four and a half years ago we stayed in a hotel in Seattle. Now we will be revisiting Seattle and are trying to find the place. I don't know if it is considered downtown or what. I know we walked (going out of hotel) to the right. There was also a very busy street there. I think out our window was some old buildings. If we walked straight ahead about five blocks we were at Pikes Market. It wasn't a fancy hotel but it was fine for us. Does this ring a bell for anyone? Gingee Posted October 31, 2010 Author #2 Share Posted October 31, 2010 Oh I also remember a mural of a dolphin very close to the hotel. Or maybe it was the hotel itself.
pompey8 Posted October 31, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 31, 2010 Try using Google street view and do a walkabout of that area. Hopefully you'll find your hotel :)
Gingee Posted October 31, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted October 31, 2010 I guess I could try that. Not sure what area to call it though. (to put in google search)

Nothing you have mentioned sounds familiar now.
Rare Gardyloo Posted November 1, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 1, 2010 There's a dolphin mural inside the Hotel Monaco - The Monaco is on a busy street, around 5 blocks from the Pike Market, and some of the windows would face older buildings. However turning right outside the main door (facing 4th Avenue) would not take you toward the Pike Market, it would take you the wrong way. The Executive Pacific Hotel is right across the street. It's an older hotel; you would turn right from there to go to the Market. It was built in the 20s and was originally called the Hungerford. Before the Hungerford went under and got re-branded it was generally regarded as a dump - I know; I used to have to stay there on business trips. Oy. Executive Pacific - http://www.executivehotels.net/downtownseattlehotel/s_seattle_home.cgi Monaco - http://www.monaco-seattle.com/ Just guesses. Dan G Posted November 1, 2010 #7 Share Posted November 1, 2010 I was thinking the Moore Hotel or the old Vance hotel (now Hotel Max) or even Mayflower Park. Actually the Vance is my best guess since its on 6th and Stewart and 5 blocks exact to the mkt to the right.
Gingee Posted November 2, 2010 Author #8 Share Posted November 2, 2010 Gad, none of those look familiar. Maybe I will just have to give up on it. I know they had a breakfast room (continental breakfast). Of course that could be a lot of places.
Gingee Posted November 2, 2010 Author #9 Share Posted November 2, 2010 Looking at various hotels, I think it was LaQuinta.
kenish Posted November 2, 2010 #10 Share Posted November 2, 2010 OP- Look at Google Maps street view now that there's a short list of hotels. Or check your credit card records. If you don't save them, banks usually have them available online going back a long time provided the card is still active.
SeattleCruiselover Posted November 2, 2010 #11 Share Posted November 2, 2010 Looking at various hotels, I think it was LaQuinta. La Quinta is a lot farther than five blocks from the market, and would be a left turn, not right.
Gingee Posted November 3, 2010 Author #12 Share Posted November 3, 2010 Well I think we kind of went left and then straight. That was almost four and a half years ago.
