:confused:princess has cruise only cruising around antartic, no landing. Question: will they have tours organized by ship ( charge of cause) on life boat to give passengers a chance if they wish to pay and wish to land? if yest how much roughly? for how long? if no land even by life boats, can you see a lot by just cruising around? if yes, what can you see? any advice? thanks inadvance.

On our Princess cruise around Cape Horn, we did not go to Antarctica. From Ushaia (I think), they offered an excursion that flew to Antarctica (3 or 4 hours each way) and spent about 3 or 4 hours on the ground. I think it was $2299/pp

No, Princess is not allowed to send passengers to shore on a voyage to Antarctica, so there are no tours while sailing there.

The tour from the mainland mentioned in the previous post is the only Princess option.

Can you see a lot? Yes, great scenery and wildlife.

Princess will no longer be sailing in Antarctic waters after the January 9th, 2011 sailing which has been sold out for a long time. We are on the Dec. 20th sailing Rio to Buenos Aries with four days in Antarctica. I think there are a few cabins still available. Also, the flight to Antarctica with landing of a few hours is approximately $3,000 pp.
