Carnival Destiny - Dress codes and Restaurants

Hi -

First time cruiser-

We are taking a 5 night cruise on the Destiny. A bit confused about the dress codes. Are there formal nights to dress up- more than one? If so, how should you dress for that? Also, I have seen postings regarding a steak house - does the Destiny ship have this? Or a restaurant on the ship where you pay to eat? Could someone please clarify about the dress codes and what types of restaurants there are (and what the dress code requirement is)?

Carnival doesn't do "formal" anymore...now, they're call "elegant"! You can wear anything from a tux/gown or suit/cocktail dress to simply what you might consider "elegant"...Sunday dress/attire...

The "for fee" restaurants are smart casual....no shorts, but almost anything else is fine...

One more question for you - is there a restaurant where you pay like $30pp or something? I have heard so many different things.
