Ok, that makes sense. I thought I read or saw somewhere the 15% was on top of the $48.30.

If you purchase as soon as you board in Florida.. you will be charged tax as well.. cost me $51 and change from Miami in Sept for my soda card.. but was well worth the price for me since I like 4 or 5 or more pops a day:D

We don't drink that many(as you) pops a day, but are torn with the fact that you can also get all the "bar juices"(for our BV mixed drinks) too with that soda card.

Still don't know if it is worth it as we could get most of the juice in the morning at breakfast and keep it in the fridge for the day.

So it doesn't make a difference if we carry on soda or juice as long as it is only 12 cans per person?

Correct. Soda, juice, & water are all acceptable. just as long as it's a non-alcoholic beverage. 12 per person. It can be cans or bottles, various sizes and flavors. If you can handle carrying them on board with you, you can go for the bigger bottle sizes. I've heard people say that they carry on two or three 2-liter bottles of soda instead of 12 cans.

Thank you! I know we can order juices from room service but I think the small cans of juice will be easier to handle. I plan on ordering some vodka for our room and use the juices as mixers.

We just returned from a 5 day cruise on the Fascination....it was our 8th Carnival cruise. In the past, we've always packed the wine in our checked luggage so that we didn't have to carry it around while we waited for our cabin to be ready. This time, they confiscated the wine.

To be fair, there were signs in the check in area that stated wine must be carried on, but the signs were inside.....after we had already given our luggage to the porter outside. Needless to say, we weren't happy, but were assured that it would be returned to us by 8pm on the last night of the cruise, so we figured that we would bring both bottles to dinner and share them with the table. Unfortunately, the wine was not delivered to our cabin before dinner.....we finally were able to get it from Guest Services at 10:30. My brother also had 2 bottles confiscated from his unlocked suitcases, but only onebottle returned to him. Guest services was very unsympathetic towards him and said that he had no proof there were 2 bottles, so there was nothing that they could do.

We will definitely know to carry it on next time, but the way this was handled and the "too bad for you" attitude of the security and guest services staff turned this into a very negative experience for our family.

For the soda card kid's price, a "kid" is 15 and under. Go to the Carnival website and check out the FAQ's on this and other subjects.

A "Kid" is 17 years old and younger:

Hey my family wants to know what the policies are on Carnival for bringing your own liquor onboard.

Here is the exact link:

http://www.carnival.com/cms/faq/default.aspx?faq=beverage

In summary, 12 cans/bottles of soda/water and 1 bottle of wine per person, in the carry-on only.

Just telling you the "official Carnival policy", not telling what seems to find it's way into my cabin. :D
