Refunds after final purchase on cruises?

I have this issue with Celebrity now and there is a price drop and they would not do any upgrade to higher category. The higher category price is lower by $500 from what I paid. I am not real HAPPY with Celebrity now.

What is their reason for denying the upgrade?

They are saying these rates are for new bookings only and does not apply to me.

I am usually on the Royal Caribbean board. Over there, some people have reported being upgraded, some have reported being denied, and some have said that you can upgrade on a new bookings only as long as the price is higher.

Maybe wait awhile and call again. If the price stays low and is a general public discount (rather than an exciting deal, for ex) you may be allowed to upgrade at that point.
