Triumph question

We will be traveling with our 83-year-old-mother and her wheel-chair scooter. She is mobile for short walks; just not very long ones.

We would like a larger cabin with Balcony. Which cabin would you suggest? Or which Category of Cabin would you suggest?

Thanks so much!

You have to go to a 9C, or the 9s wrap aft is best. the regular balconys are the same s.f. as a inside cabin, with little balconys.

One other to consider is the OVs, that have 220 s.f. inside and more space to move around inside the cabin. (I know you want a balcony, but OVs are bigger inside.).

for more s.f. .. check cruisedeckplans . com site and compare the sizes of the cabins to make your choice.

Have you requested a handicap cabin? They are huge and equipped for wheelchairs. My sister-in-law had one and it was huge.

Carnival's HC cabins are the same size as regular. They might have less furniture so the wheelchair can get around, but not larger.

RCL now their HC cabins are quite a bit larger.

This is not completely true!

Some of the HC rooms are as you speak. (Just a wider door, etc)

Some however are about the size of a cabin and a half. With a roll in bath and shower. Some friends of ours booked a last minute deal to be with us and got such a room. It was half again bigger than the normal room!

I have sailed the Triumph and will again in 2 days. If you have somone with limited mobility I recommend a room near the rear elevators. Also try to get your dining booked in the rear dining room. That will make it so that you only have to go to the front of the ship for shows/shopping/and casinos. Everything else is accessible from the back very easily. The elevators are very slow so the higher you can get the better. We were on deck 7 last time. I would recommend trying to get on 8 so you will be just one deck away from the Lido.

Could be a 4J where they are bigger even if not a HC, since no one has said a single cabin to show that the HC cabin only is bigger, not that its a unusual type of cabin for everyone ...I am going with Carnival who says HC cabins are not bigger.

Other than just saying it was a bigger cabin .. where was it, what category. You can pretty easily see on the carnival deck plans which cabins are bigger and if it was the category or just the one cabin that was HC.
