the english lady Posted January 7, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2011 Hi we are booked in a junior suite on Black Watch. We booked a cabin then changed our mind about the position, and changed it (cost us to do that):o Now I know I am being silly but this time I picked one that I now realise has a lift right next to it !!!!..Can anyone confirm whether you hear any noise from the lifts..the actual cabin looks a lot bigger on the deck plan, I hope it's not to compensate for noise from the lifts.:(
the english lady Posted January 10, 2011 Author #2 Share Posted January 10, 2011 well lots of people are looking at it, but no replies, i guess the same question would apply to cabins in similar places on the other decks ie 7014-8800-8801-9901-9902. alternativly has anyone stayed in a cabin next to a lift on a ship, any ship. Parsman Posted January 11, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2011 I have travelled on all fred. Olsen's ships and have, on occasions had cabin close to lifts. I had no problem with noise from the lifts themselves but, on rare occasions, could heat people chattingas they left the lifts. i don't think you will have a problem. I have sailed in cabin 7001 and found it ideal.:)
the english lady Posted January 11, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted January 11, 2011 thank you Parsman. I am hoping the wardrobes might be against the wall where the lift is...anyway we are not going to pay to change again so we will see...I know it was rather a long shot posting as so few Fred people seem to post anywhere. cruisemusic Posted January 13, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 13, 2011 We were in 9901 [as a family of 4] with our daughters in the small cabin backing onto the lifts. We had no problem whatsoever with noise from the lifts [and I am pretty fussy] so do not worry. Just have a super time on a lovely ship. Vicki. the english lady Posted May 10, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted May 10, 2011 Vicki . we have now moved again!!! and are in 9902. from what I have managed to find out 9901 and 9902 are huge. Are they normal cabin size with a bedroom off?. That seems to be along the side of the lift. Any noise from above? Really really looking forward to this holiday now. GThornton Posted May 11, 2011 #8 Share Posted May 11, 2011 I never even thought about the lifts or anything when i booked cabin 4059. My only thought was that i didn't want to be at the back of the ship, but also didn't want to be at the pointed end. I could probably sleep through anything anyway. Do let us know how you get on, english lady. We are booked into the same cabin after an upgrade - for the Greenland cruise in August. We have been near lifts before, and not been bothered by any noise.
the english lady Posted May 13, 2011 Author #10 Share Posted May 13, 2011 I most certainly will try and post a review, but if that seems like too much hard work, I will post a little thing on here, to say what we thought of the cabin. Once on a Thomson's ship we were just along from the bar at the top front of the ship, and right by the top of the stairs ,and we never heard anyone. It was a large cabin as well. the english lady Posted May 13, 2011 Author #11 Share Posted May 13, 2011 just realised Romola 10 you must be getting on, as we are getting off. If we enjoy it too much you may just find someone hiding in the wardrobe!!!!
romola10 Posted May 13, 2011 #12 Share Posted May 13, 2011 sounds as if the cabin would be big enough for us all, english lady : )
