car rental Tampa to Ft. Lauderdale

PH

Recommended Posts

We are getting off a cruise in Tampa on April 30 and taking another in Fort Lauderdale May 2. Is there any car rentals in Tampa that pick up at the port? If not what is the best way to rent a car from the port? Ph

Try Budget or Alamo -- seem to remember seeing their shuttle vans when we last cruised out of Tampa. If there's no free shuttle, a taxi to TPA airport where all of the car companies are located is only $25.

The drive straight form Tampa to FLL takes about 5 hours or so - be sure to opt for the electronic toll pass option. The rental agency will charge you $2.50/day + tolls (based on my last experieince with Avis), but you will save lots of time and frustration as you zoom through the toll booths looking at lines of cars waiting to pay tolls in cash! :D

Good luck! :)
