Anytime dining and entertainment?

If you choose anytime dining do you get the song and dance by the waiters? It's been 5 years since we cruised Carnival and they did not offer anytime dining so just curious how that works. Thank you!

You have to time it right. For early seating, the show usually starts around 7:25pm.

From what I understand, on the new ships, a floor of the dining room (not sure if upper or lower) is designated as anytime and the other floor is traditional. So, on the newer ships, the singing and dancing waiters won't interfere with your dinner. But you will probably hear them when they do it.

We were on the Dream last October and did anytime dining. While we didn't see the full extent of the entertainment, we had a great wait staff that did the song and dance as well. It was a lot of fun.

 

Last month we were on the Fantasy and both dining options are in the same dining room (center of dining room assigned dining, outer seating was anytime). We got the full extent of the entertainment and loved it.

 

As another commenter said, you have to time it right though in the split level dining rooms.

We are on the Legend which is an older ship. In my mind I was thinking that they must have two dining rooms - one for traditional and one for anytime dining...is this correct for the Legend? If so it would seem as if it would be difficult to have a "show" in the anytime dining due to the fact that you would always have people coming and going...If anyone has experienced this please let me know how it works. Thanks!

we certainly didnt time it right as we got to hear both the early and late seating shows one night as we started chatting with people sitting next to us we stayed a bit long.:eek:
