orwell-g Posted February 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2011 hi, I will be on New Providence in the Bahamas beginning of April. I read a lot of posts in the forum but I dont quite find an answer... if you dont want to leave the island or go on a boat - where can you do snorkling and see nice fish and corals? are there any shipwrecks that can be seen if you snorkle close the beach? Host Star Posted March 1, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 1, 2011 snorkeling is great in Freeport Bahamas... but I have never done any snorkeling from shore..the reef is a short boatride.. try posting on the Scuba and Snorkeling Board and you may have better luck with some information.. Not in nassau.. the reefs are depleted from overuse and construction. You'll need a boat trip to a reef, or a private island like Rose Island.. For the most exciting boat trip.. try stuart cove www.stuartcove.com It includes a reef, a wreck and SHARKS..
