Day Passes - Leave and re-enter?

This might be a silly question: With any of the places that offer the day passes, can you leave and reenter with the pass?

 

For instance, say I buy a day pass at the Sheraton. Can I get the pass, spend some time there, leave to go grab some lunch and sight see, then return to the Sheraton on the same pass?

At the Sheraton, you are given wrist bands to show you're a day pass guest. I see no reason you couldn't re-enter with the wrist band.

At Sandals they don't even give you a wrist band, they have a person guarding the front gate. When we went there, we just told the guard that we were getting a day pass.

I believe the key word here is day pass, I have read that you have to get another pass to stay after 5 or 6 PM.
