Carolin Posted March 22, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2011 Yes you can. I called Carnival and they did it no problem. :D
*Mach* Posted March 22, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 22, 2011 Sure... contact your PVP or TA. If you booked on your own through Carnival's website just call the number on the upper right of their homepage and someone will help you out. :)
Luv2Travelnow Posted March 22, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 22, 2011 You can but why? You'll have other charges to the S&S card, like souvenirs, drinks, etc. Just set aside the money, make sure you don't spend it, or pre-pay your credit card if you like. That way if you get poor service, you can adjust the gratuity amount.

Luv2Travelnow Posted March 22, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 22, 2011 you can do that even if you pre pay. Yes but a lot harder to get your money back, as opposed to holding on to it in the first place and adjusting before payment. That goes for any type of payments to any company / person / business. bigcraig Posted March 22, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 22, 2011 Isn't it customary to issue gratuities after services are rendered? Pre-paying would be a service charge IMO

ATL2LAS Posted March 22, 2011 #10 Share Posted March 22, 2011 I look at gratuities as part of the cruise fare and add them to the upfront cost of the cruise. Call it a service fee or whatever, you will receive so much more service than what $10 pays for, I usually tip more by the end.
Justsyd Posted March 22, 2011 #11 Share Posted March 22, 2011 Isn't it customary to issue gratuities after services are rendered? Pre-paying would be a service charge IMO The money isn't paid out until after your cruise. Pre-paying allows many people to board the cruise all paid up, and so that's why they do it. IF Carnival required the gratuities to be pre-paid before the cruise, THAT would be a service charge.
