My turn to pay it forward! Ocean Players Club members that received letter . . .

Just sent my PVP an email and here is her reply:

No two rates are ever combinable as the system wont allow us to do so… now you can get the onboard casino cash from the certificate if you book early saver… Even though the casino offer was lower you wanted to use the early saver due to price protection… The casino offer does not offer price protection on your sailing…

So I'm not sure if those of you who were able to get the 25% off and were originally ES are still ES~ so I'd double check that if I were you~~because if it's true you won't be able to receive OBC after final payment~

But then again there never seems to be ONE correct answer when dealing with Carnival~ :p

is there a code on there that we would need, I can't find ours. :(

When Carnival or a Travel Agent looks up your past guest number, the offer will be noted there, so you do not need to have the code.

Here is my situation for others that find they were/are in the same boat:

Cruising on the Glory 4/24, booked ES. Last week saw a price drop via Fare Viewer and submitted my form. Got $170 OBC! Read this lovely thread this morning and recalled calling about this offer just about a month ago because my partner received the letter. I was told it only applies to future cruises. So I thought, what the heck, it can't hurt to call. Called and spoke with a rep with Ocean Players Club and explained the situation. I even told her my little one threw away the letter and casino voucher. She set it up for my partner to pick up her voucher in the casino, and was also able to match the 25% discount as well. Total OBC: $330!

Thanks for posting this, I called today and was told that I could use this promo now to get the lower fare. My situation is this:

I booked the Miracle sailing 9/11/11 in January 2011 using early saver.

I received the promo letter last month & called the # on the letter. The lady told me to submit the early saver protection form with the promo code and she told me my new fare. I submited and they denied it saying something about it couldn't be combined with ES. After reading this post I called again. She said that they have reconsidered and are now accepting them as of last week. Unfortunately my 8M catagory is sold out but because they have my conversation logged in their computer and what fare I was quoted when I called last month that I needed to resubmit and explain all of this in the comments section and I will get the lower fare I was quoted.

I will keep you posted if it goes through.

Are you saying you got the 25% discount off of the ES rate you booked in January? Because I have talked to 2 different people and they both said the same thing~ They can't give the 25% off of the ES rate becasue its a different rate code and you can't have 2 rate codes plugged into the same booking #~

I could get the casino rate for about $30pp cheaper than my ES rate but then I lose out on the price guarantee after final payment...hmmmm this just keeps getting more and more confusing to me~:p

It only came out to $10.00 cheaper pp using casino promo verses what I'm currently paying under ES rate. As far as losing my price guarantee after final payment she didn't say anything about me having to change from early saver. My catagory is already sold out so I'm not sure if I should really be worried if it did change from early saver, should I be worried?
