Tell me what is good about Eastern Caribbean

I have always cruised the Western Caribbean and am considering doing an Eastern trip this year aboard the Valor. So...what is great about Eastern Caribbean? We are not shoppers, but enjoy some great active excursions as well as quiet beach time at a beautiful spot. So...what is your favorite thing about the Eastern side? What should I not miss?

I love the Eastern route. If you love peaceful beaches, take a ferry from St. Thomas over to Trunk Bay on St. John. Go to www.***** and take a look - ferry shedules are also posted there. Or on St. Thomas you can relax at Megan's Bay, go waverunning on Sapphire Beach, or snorkle at Coki Beach.

St. Martin - fabulous island. Orient Beach is our favorite. You can do any type of watersport, have a message or henna tatoo, or just relax. There is usually some surf - it's on the Atlantic.

Puerto Rico - Also love this place. Usually on Eastern routes it's a nite stop, but usually you dock as early as 3pm and if you hurry you can catch a cab up to the fort - El Morro. The view is wonderful there. I love the cobblestone streets and the little squares with fountains. In places it feels like Europe. Very romantic.

Try something different - I think you'll like Eastern!

I have visited several islands in the eastern caribbean and they are simply beautiful. Some of my favorites are St John, St Kitts, Nevis, St Barts, Virgin Gorda. The more commercial islands such as St Thomas and St Martin are very nice too but more for the shopper. If you love the beautiful blue water and gorgeous beaches then you will find the eastern caribbean to be wonderful. I am hoping to visit the southern caribbean, aruba & bonaire.

Happy Cruising:D

After a dozen times at each I dont' find that much difference. What ever it is you like to do in the Western you can find it in the Eastern. You find snorkeling areas, horseback riding, golf, jeep rides, bus rides, taxi rides, dolphins, same type of shopping and resturants, beautiful beaches, casino resorts. The only thing I can think of you can't do Eastern is the Sting Rays although Nassau does have an enclosed area with sting rays included the rare white sting ray. Oh, and you can't go to Hell on the Eastern leg.

We have also done both and love both. We went Eastern last Aug. and agree that Trunk Bay in St. John is a must, we loved Orient Beach in St. Martin and we also went horseback riding here, it was awesome we swam with the horses what a blast. Go for it and try Eastern. It's the caribbean how bad can it be right?
