Just back from Serenade to carribean

Recommended Posts

Hi all! We just returned from our first cruise! We were on the Serenade of the Seas to the Southern Carribean. We had a great time. If anyone has any questions, especially first timers, fire away!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi -

We are sailing in a couple of weeks - 4/9 departure.

Our flights are due in to San Juan around 1:30 or 2:00. Any issues with getting to the pier by taxi? Did you use the ship transfers rather than a taxi?

How does disembarking work? By flight time or other?

What did you do in Barbados?

Thanks!

Used a taxi to get to the pier - no trouble whatsoever. Your luggage making it is your biggest concern. It seems to go easier with American (hub) than others. Taxi arrangements are a fixed price - very quick and efficient.

Disembarking was by flighttime - they block you into groups by flight number. RC knows all the flights that are leaving. You will get this on your bed the second to the last night. If you have a flight before 11 AM, you can get a special white tag to get off right away. Luggage is in a large wearhouse by colored tag (which you put on your bags the last night). Customs was a breeze.

In Barbados, we did the Jolly Roger - great time - good dancing and tunes - but it is not a sightseeing tour!

Hope this helps.

Can you tell me what night was carribean night? Formal night(s)?

Can you check your luggage at the pier? We have a late afternoon flight and wanted to go to OLS. Thanks!! How was the sea? How rocky was the ship?

More thanks!
