Is the Havensight Mall area within walking distance of where the Carnival ships dock? What is it like?

First it depends on which dock you are at. St. Thomas has two main cruise ship docks. The West Indian Company Dock (WICO) at Havensight and the Crown Bay Dock at Crown Bay (E-9 on our St. Thomas map). Some ships anchor either inside Charlotte Amalie Harbor or just outside of it, and then run their own smaller vessels to Charlotte Amalie. There are also smaller cruise ships that anchor outside of St. John.

Most ships for Carnival will dock at Havensight. Havensight mall is dockside a two minute walk from the gangway. It is outside shopping with basically 5 very long strip mall type buildings that face each other with many stores. A variety of shops from jewelry,liquor, sovenier,higher end clothing, t-shirts,electronics you name it. Down further at very end across road at end (like a "T" are a few more shops, and to the left the tram to Paradise point, A hooters, a radioshack and a small food store (we got some canned soda here) about 10 min walk.

We have been to St.Thomas many times and have gone "downtown" to Charlotte Amalie and find it has changed from many unique shops to more jewelry that offer same stores at Havensight. There is still some quaintness to downtown alleyways, a small straw market-but for us not really of any need anymore since Havensight has really gotten bigger.

Thanks for attaching the great map. We've been to St. Thomas many times (mostly on Princess) and recently been docked at Crown Bay. We were last there in 2008. Has any significant shopping been added at Crown Bay since then?

has been getting better each year. They have at least 3 buildings with many different shops and some that are at Havensite as well.

Carnival only docks at the WICO. Havensite is located there, so getting to Havensite is as easy as walking of your ship.
