vaitape Posted June 4, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 4, 2011 We're thinking of using O's air for this cruise in December and are wondering what routing/airlines O used last year. LAX is our gateway airport. Did you go through London, Frankfurt or ??? What was your routing on the return from Singapore? What airlines did you fly? We'll be deviating as we are going to Joburg initially and also plan to spend a few days in Singapore post-cruise. Thanks for your help!
ClaudiaF Posted June 5, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2011 Since I never use ship air ( preferring to take the credit and book my own)...can't help you with that, but for airline to Cape Town you might check South African airlines. We are also from LA and they fly to Washington D.c. then direct to Joburg. You can then book from Joburg to Capetown. :D Then try Singapor airlines for return..just a thought..more direct return flights
vaitape Posted June 5, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted June 5, 2011 Thanks Claudia. O's air is the best fare we've found so will take theirs this time. We've done our own before and it's worked well for us but the fares are sky high to SA, especially open jaw flights.

Since you are deviating - Oceania will tell you what flights they have booked you on. That is part of the deal and purpose. If you have not done your deviation I would suggest you do this ASAP (since it is holiday travel time when you leave for Capetown). My guess is they will either route you through LHR or FRA as that is what they were doing with us. On the return likely either UA or DL. We are on the same cruise and did that "negotiator" site for Capetown and used FF miles on UA for the return after discussing the options for a deviation with Oceania.
