Freedom 6-night or Glory 7-night for after-Thanksgiving escape?

Recommended Posts

Considering cruises departing the weekend after Thanksgiving 2011.

Here are the two best choices, which would you pick?

Choice 1 - Carnival Glory 7-night Western Caribbean

Interior Cabin - 4 people - $1390 total (Excellent price)

Day Port Arrive Depart

Sunday, Nov 27 Miami, FL 4:00pm Monday, Nov 28 Fun Day at Sea

Tuesday, Nov 29 Cozumel, Mexico 8:00am 5:00pm

Wednesday, Nov 30 Belize 8:00am 5:00pm

Thursday, Dec 01 Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan 7:00am 3:00pm

Friday, Dec 02 Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands 10:00am 6:00pm

Saturday, Dec 03 Fun Day at Sea

Sunday, Dec 04 Miami, FL 8:00am

Pros: Great price, one extra night

Cons: I've been on this exact itinerary on the Valor. I liked everything except Belize.

Choice 2 - Carnival Freedom 6-night Western Caribbean

Interior Cabin - 4 people - $1320 total

Day Port Arrive Depart

Sunday, Nov 13 Ft Lauderdale, FL

4:00pm

Monday, Nov 14 Key West, FL 8:00am 5:00pm

Tuesday, Nov 15 Fun Day at Sea

Wednesday, Nov 16 Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands 7:00am 4:00pm Thursday, Nov 17 Ocho Rios, Jamaica 7:30am 3:30pm

Friday, Nov 18 Fun Day at Sea

Saturday, Nov 19 Ft Lauderdale, FL 8:00am

Pros: Relatively new ship, never been to Key West

Cons: Only 6 nights for roughly the same price. Not a huge fan of Ocho Rios.

SO, WHICH WOULD YOU PICK?

Also, pics of an interior cabin on these ships made with the two uppers (for 4 people) would be great! Thanks!

All almost identical ships, except one has a extra night. You said it yourself, the extra night is the best value if you can get the extra time off.

Carnival does cookie cutter cruises, same menus, same layout on the same class of ships.

I pick by price and which port is easier to get to.

All of these ships are the same class, einy, miny, miny, mo.

Roatan is my favorite port, so of course Id pick that itinerary. I have done it 3 times and cant wait to go back.

I'm leaning towards the Glory. Many people report that Freedom has gaudy decor, and the extra night is only $70 extra dollars total.

Can anyone tell me anything about interior cabins? I've always been in Oceanview cabins, but I'd like to do this cruise "on the cheap".

I loved the Freedom, so it's hard for me to vote against her, but an extra night for less than $20pp would be a no-brainer for me. I'd book the Glory or the Valor.

Personally, I always go for the longer cruise! I have not even sailed on an itinerary that is less than 7 days.

I loved the Freedom AND the Glory. I would go back on either of these ships in a heartbeat. As a previous poster said, the ships are the same except for decor and so is the product.

If the inclusive price with cruise, travel etc is close I would go for the longer cruise. I have done 7 Days and 8 Day cruises and I really find that the 1 day does make a difference to me and my overall relaxation/enjoyment/experience.

Key West is one of our favorite ports- We were there last cruise on the Freedom -great ship

You will dock at B which is close to Mallory Square--we docked at OM not close to Mallory.

You did not mentioned flying or driving to Mia--Sunday after Thanksgiving will be tricky either flying or driving.

Have done 7 day on another cruise line with same ports enjoyed all.
