Booking excursions online

Looking to do the Baths at Virgin Gorda and I've read lots that we should do it through Carnival because of the distance and limited timeframe involved. If I were to book now, do I need to pay now, or does it not show up on my S&S until it actually takes place?

you will be asked for a credit card when your purchase excursions online, it does not affect your sail n sign balance onboard
