Fascination Review 4/11/2011 - KW & Nassau

We wait inside a bit before heading out to find a cab to the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal. As a surprise to my DH & DS, I booked a Dolphin Encounter @ the Blue Lagoon.

 

Excited!

 

It's about a half hour ride to Blue Lagoon. The views are breathtaking & the houses are HUGEEEEEEE.

DS is still tired from yesterday so he catches a small cat nap.

 

Pulling into Blue Lagoon. All I can say is WOW. What a beautiful place. The water, the sand, the people, it was amazing.

 

 

If you plan to visit Blue Lagoon, come dressed in Swim Gear. We didn't & had to waste a bit of time changing before we headed off to our dolphin area.

You will spot dolphins as soon as you get off the ferry.

We head over to our area and meet our dolphin, Andy. I love dolphins. Aren't they cute? Well, up close, not so much. They're a bit intimidating but it was an awesome experience.

They have everyone come around & take a picture with the dolphin first. Then, they pick groups/families to come into the water & interact with the dolphin. We were selected in the 1st group, I believe because of DS. The other groups had children, as well, expect 1 couple.

 

DS wouldn't stop kissing the dolphin, he had an absolute blast.

 

This was definitely the highlight of our trip. We dance, kiss, touch the dolphin & we're done. In all, I say we spent about 20 minutes in the water with the dolphin. Since we're the 1st group done, we have a bit of time to head over to the beach.

 

Water is so clear.

 

The last ferry heads back at 4pm. We hop onboard & head back to the ship.

The cool thing about the ferry back from Blue Lagoon, you can choose to hop off at the PI Ferry Terminal or back at the ship. We stay onboard & hop off at the ship. Not having to take a taxi back, priceless!

 

We loved the Dolphin Encounter. Like I said, it was the highlight of our trip. If you're interested, book ahead online. Total cost was $99 pp & the little guy was free.

 

We wash up & decide not to head out to Atlantis. Instead, we grab a pre-dinner snack.

Dinner was delicious as always.

Lamb, which I didn't like & switched for the Chateaubriand. Hope I spelled that right.

 

Dessert - I think this was the Orange Marnier Souffle.

 

My DS loved the music & dancing. Here he is dancing with the waiters.

After dinner, we head upstairs to catch the sunset & hope to drop DS off at CC.

Successfully drop off DS at CC & head to the bar for a drink.

 

We catch some karaoke, and the Hey, Mambo, if I remember correctly & head to pick up DS from Camp.

Up next, last sea day.

 

It's a lazy day, we wake up late. Head up to Lido for breakfast.

Catch the ice carving. Just chill.

 

Dinner tonight, we take a pic with Joseph, the Super Charged Maitre D.

Fun guy.

Chicken Nuggets for DS, or just ketchup.

Back to the room to pack

 

We drop DS off at CC & head to the Punchliner Comedy Club to catch the comedians.

Drinks!

You can see the phone provided by Camp Carnival. They will call you if anything is wrong or they need you to come pick up your child.

You can also use it to call all phones on board, in case you're traveling with some else & need to call their cabin.

 

Comedians were great, we head up to pick up DS from CC & find a new Whale Tail.

We opted out of Self debark since we had 3 suitcases plus DS.

We get up early & head up to Lido for breakfast, taking it easy since we'll be waiting a while.

Decide to walk around since someone is getting antsy. Head down to Lido & purchase a couple more pictures/frames & a new buddy for DS.

 

Head to the show lounge to wait out the rest of the announcements.

 

We're the last ones called off, easy debarkation. All our luggage is where it's supposed to be, we called our transportation & are headed back to the Hyatt Place.

We take advantage of our last pool day, grab some dinner & go to bed early since our flight leaves at 6am.

 

Everyone is buckled up.

We really enjoyed our time aboard Fascination. We had no problems with our room steward, our waiters, or anyone onboard for that matter. We met some really nice people & were able to relax a bit.

The only issue would be the sewer smell coming from the bathroom but it wasn't overly noticeable, we just kept the door shut.

We would definitely sail Fascination again, hopefully to HMC someday.

Thanks Latinhunny for a GREAT review. We will be doing this cruise for my and my SIL's mother's birthdays come mid-August....we will be a big family group of 12 with one DD and her hubby, his mom, their 4 kids, my DH and me, our xSIL and 2 grandsons. We are looking to have a great time.

 

Don't be so hard on your DH :D .....we've cruised more than 24 times and my DH is getting tired of dressing up on formal nights. I am thinking I'll let him get by with dress slacks and dress shirt for this one. It's vacation relax and enjoy and to heck with the clothes police ;)

 

Oh, and I wanted to ask....what time did you book your encounter for with Dolphin Discovery? I was worried about timing booking on own.

I booked the dolphin encounter for 2pm. Ship docked at noon & we had to be at the PI Ferry Terminal by 1:30 to board the ferry. Ferry is included in DE price but you will have to pay taxi to PIFT, about $4 pp.

 

Yeah, DH isn't big on dressing up, as you can see, but he wouldn't dare miss out on lobster so we'll see what happens come May. :D

Great review! Loved your pictures! Sorry you had a few melt downs in the MDR. I'm always happy when it's not me! :) (same goes for on the plane!!) But glad to hear the staff are accommodating to kids. Great pic of them entertaining your little man.

 

Sure looked like the little guy loved the kids club! My son is excited to see what toys they have. That and the ability to have ice cream at midnight. :)

The Camp Carnival staff was fantastic. We had no worries. We would pop by every so often & peek in the windows & he was always busy doing something/having a blast.

You can always call & ask how he's doing!
