docking question for Cozumel and Grand Cayman

It has been a while since we have been to Cozumel and Grand Cayman and we cannot remember if we need to take a cab at either port or if the ship docks near the shopping areas. If anyone has been recently please let us know. Thanks.

Cozumel has two ports. We docked at Puerta Maya. It has Carnival owned shops, but includes most of the big names. To get to the shops outside of the port does require a cab.

When we docked at Cozumel, there was a shopping mall attached to the ship terminal. If you walked down to the street, there were plenty of small, privately owned shops, all within a few minutes of the terminal.

Cozumel - depending on which ship you are on as to which pier you will dock at............all piers have shopping as you walk off the ship.

 

Grand Cayman - tendering port. There is plenty of shopping right as you get off the tender.

When we docked in Cozumel a few weeks ago it was the one furthest from town. If i remember right a cab to downtown was $16.00 on way. We did not ask but saw it posted on a board.

I was in Cozumel last month, cab fare was $8 for the car load.
