Lunch first day?

Recommended Posts

My last few cruises have been on NCL. there we were allowed to eat in the MDR when we first got on board...not many people knew about it so there was never a wait ..do they have this on the explorer?

No wish RCCL did offer this option though.

We normally try to get their incredibly early. Be the first ones onboard. We did that for Oasis and it was great. Most say avoid the WJ on the first day because of the crowds we did the opposite. We got onboard in the first group and went to the dinning room (right their anyway) to check out table. We then took the elevator right up to the WJ and had a relaxing meal in an empty WJ. After that we explored the rest of the ship. We never went back to the WJ again until breakfast on debarkation day. Every day I got breakfast at the Park Cafe (so relaxing in the empty CP with the piped in bird chirps, light breeze blowing the plants, and the gardener trimming and watering everything). For lunch I went to the Park Cafe, Sorento's, Wipeout Grill, Johnny Rockets, and Main Dinning Room (Nassau day) without repeating because of port days where we weren't around for lunch. Never even missed the crowds from the WJ. RCCL claims that as the week goes on people will learn not to rely on the WJ but on our 1/2/10 cruise it didn't feel like many learned, so glad we tried it early before the crowds took over.

Went to the WJ after boarding on our first cruise. With all the excitement at the hotel that morning, we didn't really eat much for breakfast. We get to the ship early so the WJ isn't crowded. When we sit down at a table we have our moment where we realize that "We're baaaaccck"...and our cruise begins. We check out our table in the MDR, then head to the cabin to drop off the carry on and check out the view from the balcony. Then it's back to the pool deck for an overpriced DOD before the Muster Drill. It's "tradition." :D
