Help with transportation in Boston

WE will be traveling with friends in August and one of the ports is Boston. Our friend has Parkinson's and we want to go to Quincy market and maybe some other places but will probably need to take a cab, How easy is it to get cabs at locations and whats the ballpark rate that they get from the pier. Any help would be appreciated.

If cabs are not immediately available at the pier, you can call one - take some phone numbers with you. http://www.cityofboston.gov/police/hackney/companies.asp The fare including tip should be less than $15.

Be aware that Quincy market is all cobblestone. May be a little tough if your friend's gait is unsteady, or if the person uses a wheelchair or scooter at all. Just a heads up.

Cabs are easy to get right outside the terminal. Cost us less than $15 for the fare, each way, last week. Have fun. DMaugle

I was just going to mention that, too. Great place to visit, but yes, very uneven due to the cobblestones.
