we are staying precruise in downtown miami..what time should we arrive at the port? staying at downtown hilton-how much would a taxi be to south beach?

According to the Hilton site review..."Very nice hotel right in the middle of everything except the beach. South beach is a little ways away and It's a $20 cab ride away."

As far as the time to arrive at the port, Some people will be there at 9 am but they won't start boarding until 10:30 or 11. If you get there early, you will be standing in line for a long time.

I'm planning on headed to POM for about 10:30am for my cruise in October. I have a suite so I have VIP embarkment and hoping to be on the boat by 11:30am. I'd rather wait at the port then at the hotel but 9am is just way too early.

I usually get to the port around noon and am on the ship by 12:30.

We arrived to the POM at 11am and we were on-board eating lunch at 11:45am.....it was very smooth here.
