trinityreservations.com doesn't have hotels posted yet for May 2012. However stay123.com does have the Country Inn posted for $138 including tax - includes room, breakfast and 14 days parking. If you're really serious about being budget conscious, you can take a local bus to Newark Penn Station and then Path to 33rd St. and a cab to the pier or train to NY and a cab to the pier or local bus from Country Inn (Jersey Garden Mall) to Port Authority and cab to the pier. We can provide details. It could be a money saving adventure. This is not what we ordinarily recommend, but the reality of this area is that there is plenty of affordable transportation, but you pay a price for it in terms of time.

 

We've had a number of folks post who were looking for the cheapest way to get from one place to another. Unfortunately, the usual response is to say just book a car service, but that's really a non-answer. The choices are there - you just have to be willing to make them.

Can you tell me more about the bus you mentioned? I looked it up online and couldn't figure out what route would take me to the port.

The Lakeland bus terminates/starts at Port Authority. So you need to look at the schedule to/from Persipanny. A cab with tip would run about $15 to port. My sister walks it. :)

 

You might be able to find a hotel with a parking feature for a week??
