Pre-Paid Booze Package

I just read something that RCI and Celebrity are going to be taking the lead in offering "pre-paid" booze packages. It's looking about from $308 per person for a weeklong cruise and then an additional $70 for premium brands. I guess that's not so bad...But I have no clue how much drinks are.

 

I figure that would be 8-9 drinks per day at $5 or 4-5 drinks per day @$10.

 

I "like" to drink but I'm just not sure about that much EVERY day? How far off am I on "drink" prices?

 

I have no clue when or what ships (if not all) this will be offered.

Celebrity already offers this on their ships. Royal Caribbean is only offering it on three ships based in Europe on a trail basis.

On Celebrity it would also cover specialty coffees, fresh oj, soda, etc., so not just alcohol.

Remember there are days you'll be in port and not on the ship...so you wont be drinking all those hours, while your away... Factor that in ...now can/do you really drink that much..

Some people do, I cant.

My understanding was the package was still on trial.

Also keep in mind that everyone in the cabin that is of legal drinking age must purchase the package whether they drink or not. So if there are 2 non drinkers in the cabin that 1 drinker has his work cut out for him/her.

Still on a trial basis. No updates on any plans to expand it yet.
