hondarr9 Posted August 30, 2011 #26 Share Posted August 30, 2011 The ice is choopy. The rink is crowded. It's very cool to be skaing on a cruise... and people who haven't skated in a long time - or ever - will have a thrill just being on skates. But if you are the kind of person who really knows how to skate and can feel the difference between good and bad skates, you are going to be pretty frusted anyway... regardless of the quality of skates. Totally agree. I also got reprimanded for skating backwards. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
Patsfan3 Posted August 30, 2011 #27 Share Posted August 30, 2011 A few years ago we went and adults did not have to wear helmets. I guess they have changed the policy? I may re-think bringing our skates, my son may not enjoy it if he can not even skate backwards.
jjb415 Posted August 30, 2011 #28 Share Posted August 30, 2011 The ice skate rink seems a little bit small. Regarding to helmet, do they offer helmet for adult? I think they offer 3 sizes of helmets that I saw - the Medium Size fit my big head. ;)
ryansmom Posted August 30, 2011 #29 Share Posted August 30, 2011 They have helmets that fit everyone. After all, IF it's THEIR policy, they must accommodate you. I skated backwards a lot. Nobody ever said anything to me? It can seem crowded because it's a small rink...but they limit the number of adults and children. They go over the rules and one is not to be weaving in and out of other people. I'm sure if you complained about someone horsing around, they'd get a warning from the staff. Jimnbigd Posted September 2, 2011 #35 Share Posted September 2, 2011 Also, you can book a private lesson from one of the pro skaters. I'm not sure of the price. You can try jumps then.
