My wife and i would like to check out new orleans for a couple hours. We do not want to drag our carry on luggage around. How difficult is it to check in dump luggage and go back ashore on sail date? We dont want to go through all the red tape .We will have our seapass card so i dont see the difficulty.

Sometimes cabins are not secured until 1pm- so dropping off your luggage to your cabin is doable--just not safe.

Your other luggage... drop off with the porter and dont check in with the ship and do your touring-- when finished head back to the ship to check in.

It will take you an hour to get through the checking in process. then leaving the ship you will have to go through security again. That is why I suggest dropping the luggage then tour then check in at the ship.
