Guaranteed veranda stateroom

We booked a cruise for next Jan 23 aboard the Equinox to Western Caribbean. We went with the Guaranteed Veranda package. Waiting for the cabin assignment. Can anyone tell me when this will happen. Do they wait until the final payment is made? According to our TA, if we get a cabin that we don't like before the final payment, we have a choice of up-grading, keeping what they assigned or cancelling out and get a full refund for the deposit. However if it's "after" the final payment is made, we only have a choice of keeping or upgrading. Does this sound right?

Yes, until your final payment is due, you can cancel with no penalty for any reason or no reason. After final payment, there is a penalty if you want to cancel. When you book a guarentee, you may not get a cabin until you are at the pier dropping off your bags.
