Manhatten Cruise terminal

The Gem leaves from the Manhatten terminal, but what is the Pier number?

there is one motor entrance to the three finger piers at the Manhattan Cruise terminal. All cars/limos/cabs must enter at 54th street and 12th avenue.

On any given day the ship can be either at pier 88 or 90, rarely at pier 92. About 80% of the time the ship will be at pier 88.

Even Carnival will use Pier 88 if they are the only ship calling that day.

You didn't say when you were sailing.

See http://www.nycruise.com/scheduleNYC.html to see how many ships will be at the Manhattan Cruise terminal.

Or the PDF is here: http://www.nycruise.com/documents/NewCruiseSchedule_2-15-2011.pdf

Too bad they don't list the pier, but on my last Cruise on the Glory we left from 90 the "normal" carnival pier (NCL at 88) and returned to 88 as we were the only ship that day.

The countdown clock in her signature block shows she's on the Gem's 9/18 sailing. There are two other ships in port that day...Veendam and AIDAluna. It's virtually certain that the ship will be at Pier 88. I've been there when the Veendam and an NCL ship both used 88, one on each side.

Veendam and Gem shared the pier on our June cruise. We parked and came down the escalator and missed the signs showing where HAL lined up and where NCL did. We got in the NCL line as it was the one we reached first. I guess if you come in from the street it is marked clearly.

Enjoy your cruise!
