an observation about the soda sticker on Liberty

On our recently ended cruise on the Liberty my wife bought the soda sticker.

On other cruises you used to just flash the card and they give you a glass of soda.

On this cruise they took your card and swiped it into the computer.

They did give bigger glasses of soda than in the past though.

Is this just on the liberty or have others seen this on other ships?

I think that they may be trialing a way to cut back on the sharing of stickers. If they swipe your card and then 15 seconds later they swipe your card again and it happens like that way too many times they can probably assume that you are getting soda's for someone other than yourself.

Wait until we start hearing the complaints from people who got their soda cards revoked due to fraudulent use.

I can't imagine though that they were in larger glasses. Only because when you order a double of an alcholic drink they make it in the same glass that the soda's are poured in. I would be surprised if they mixed those drinks in larger glasses and can't believe that they would keep special larger sized glasses for the soda program.

This was interesting on the Inspiration, my husband and I each had our own card, went up together the bartender looked at my card and swiped my husbands. I have no idea why they would swipe one and not the other. This was the first time we used it on embarkation day.
