LSU VS ALABAMA on SHIP TV?????

We will be boarding the Elation on Nov. 5, 2011 the day of maybe the biggest SEC football game of the year. Not sure if it is an afternoon or night game. This ship sails out of New Orleans and I suspect the majority of the passengers will be either an LSU or an Alabama fan. Any chance of the game being carried on the ship's television. Anyway to find out???

My DH has emailed John Heald but , bless his heart, he is inundated with inquiries and may not get to it.

I was on the Elation out of Mobile during the Alabama/Florida game. It was shown on CBS and the ship carried ABC, NBC, FOX, and ESPN, but not CBS! Don't know if the channel selection is ship specific, home port specific, or some other combination. The ship truly tried to get the game tuned in, but could not.

We had a memorable time anyway...about 50 of us die hard Alabama fans crowded the sports bar decked out in our fan gear and watched Wisconsin/Nebraska just so we could cheer when the score ticker came around. We stayed the entire game and had a great time! What was really funny was watching people come in to the bar, stare at the tv for a few minutes, then realize they weren't watching "the game."

Hope you're able to pick it up! Gotta love a good SEC game!

A few weeks ago on the Legend we did NOT get a CBS station all week and the bartender in the Sportsbar told us they had not had a CBS feed for quite awhile...

The TV feeds "for the fleet" that John Heald posted a couple of months ago are complete BS.

We had NBC from the Virgin Islands and ABC and FOX feeds from Puerto Rico.

(all carried their early AM and evening news feeds from NYC stations for some reason. Alot of passengers were confused thinking the feeds were from NYC, but couldn't understand why commercials were all in spanish )

The ESPN was ESPN International and ESPN 2 International in the sportsbar, but neither showed 1 second of NCAA games.

Just a 3 hour window of Monday Night Football and every second the rest of the week was soccer, soccer and more soccer.

Hopefully your ship gets the CBS feed so you can watch some quality SEC action and not the mixed bag on ABC all day...

Best of luck.

Thanks for all the replies..Sure were a mixed bag. I suspect that 75% of the passengers on that sailing will be SEC fans so I really hope it is shown somewhere. At least we could keep up with the score even if we can't get in the bar that its being shown in. GEAUX TIGERS

Just a funny...Last year we were on the Triumph when the Saints were playing. Of course the Chairhogs were on deck saving seats by 10:00 am and not sitting in them till dark(empty chairs all day) when the big screen showed the game. We watched it inside at the casino bar...The funny part was that the audio was all in SPANISH...Didn't hurt the game one bit. Saints won...LOL
