We will be in flu Nov 26 -28. Staying at Embassy Suites on 17th st. Question. Can we expect to swim in the ocean then and are the beaches public. Can we rent chairs etc without being in a hotel on the beach? Thx.

The weather and water could be a tad chilly at the end of November. Beaches are public and chair rentals are available. I suggest getting dropped off at Beach Place as there are bars, shops, restaurants, and public restrooms, across from the beach.

Weather in Florida is always very fickle. It might be horrible one November, and the next year November is perfect. This is our life here in FL, the subtropics. :)

Depending on where you are from, the ocean water is fine. If you are used to super warm water, you may have some difficulties. I'm in Orlando- and didn't have an issue in Nov in South Florida weather-wise, but the water wasa bit cold for my tastes.

Looks like the OP is from Canada. I can always tell the Canadians from the Floridians in the winter months.

The Canadians are in the water! :D

The Floridians are bundled up in coats, in the car with the heater on!

IF the sky is clear and sunny it can be comfortable in late November, but we don't go in the water. Air will be too cool for us. But it feels wonderful while lounging by a pool or ocean providing the sun is shining brightly. I just wouldn't count on true "beachy" weather and you'll be happy!
