Golf simulator onboard Sun Princess?

Has anyone had a go of it? If so, how much does it cost? Did you enjoy it/was it realistic enough? What courses could you "play"?

It's free, just have to register. Others who I saw playing seemed to enjoy it. Not a golfer myself though, so hard to say how it compares.

Its not a "Golf Simulator" like they have on Diamond/Sapphire...its just a minigolf layout...quite challenging - especially if the weather is a bit rough!

 

The simulators on the bigger ships cost...but are real simulators where they have screens and projections of various courses and you get to swing real golf clubs.

Not sure of the ones on Diamond, but it is a simulator where you swing a club, hit the ball to a screen and the course changes. It's not minigolf/putt putt golf.

My hubby had a go at the golf simulator on Sun Princess in 2010.

 

I just asked him and he said for a regular golfer it was a bit of fun, and would be a bit more challenging for someone who doesn't play golf often.

 

You do get to use real clubs and it has the screen and projection set up. He played Pebble Beach ,but can't remember how much it was exactly but could have been around $50.00.

 

I remember on the first day of the cruise there was a chance to try it out briefly (for free) and have a look at the set up before booking a "game".

Must have changed things since I was last on Sun Princess....probably when they put in MUTS and the Sancturary.
