elegant night pictures?

My wife is very excited about formal/elegant night on the ship. I'm all set with my suit, but she doesn't know how dressed up to get. So she asked me to come on here and see if anyone had pictures from their trip. Any help is appreciated.

As dressed up as you want to get. I don't have photographic evidence, but I saw cocktail dresses, prom/bridesmaid dresses, "Sunday best", all the way down to "nice" sundresses.

The dress code is way more relaxed now a days. As long as she doesn't wear shorts to the dinning room she will be fine.

You will see everything from dressy pants with glittery tops to ball gowns for the women. Sport coats to tuxedos for the men. DH and I have as many pictures taken as possible. We actually bought one on our last cruise because it looked really good.

 

Whatever the two of you feel comfortable and special wearing will be just fine. Don't stress over it, you will be more dressed up than some and less dressed up than others whatever you decide.

Tell your wife to get as dressed up as she wants! We still wear a tux and a formal long dress...not because we have to but because we want to!

If she wants to be in the majority...then in my opinion that would be a cocktail style dress. There are a few that will dress more elegant and a few that will dress less elegant, but I believe the majority are in between with cocktail style dresses.

There is actually a board for cruise fashion and a thread or two with pictures of dresses that women wore on their cruise. Here is what we wore

 

 

Now, we also saw anything from cocktail dresses to Formal gowns. :)

And the same backdrops are out every night and they set them up around 5pm, so take advantage of the non-peak times dressed up or not.......

Here are a couple of examples. One more casual, the other more formal. Just about anything goes but we have noticed a trend towards being a bit less formal on Carnival the last handful of years.
