Does RCCL charge for upgrades?

Recommended Posts

There are free upgrades in some circumstances, and there are paid upgrades in some circumstances. For instance, I went on a cruise last summer where I booked an oceanview guarantee but then ended up being able to upgrade to a balcony guarantee for free, because the price for the balcony guarantee dropped so low that it was the same as the price I had originally paid for the oceanview . But unless there's a price drop like that, or a visit from the upgrade fairy, most likely you will pay some money for an upgrade. Hope that answers your question!

Here's the difference:

If you are GIVEN an upgrade, it is free.

If you are OFFERED an upgrade, it is for sale at a price (maybe reduced, but still an additional charge.)

Hope This Helps.
