The Your Time Dining areas are mostly populated with smaller tables... for two or four. Typically, the larger tables are for six.

You certainly can ask to be seated with others but, as was mentioned, you'll likely have to wait a bit as couples and small groups are the target of YTD.

You might want to consider traditional dining instead...

Both past cruises we used the ATD the hostess would ask us if we would like a table for 2 or would we like to share. Depending on the ship, the tables for 2 are not really so private. We just got off the Inspiration and the ATD was actually a 2 top but just a mere 6" away from the next 2 top. The set up was a 4 top then either one or two 2 tops making one long table for 8 or 10. On the Legend, there were a few more traditional 2 tops that were actually separate tables and then a few that were set-up as mentioned above with the longer tables. :)

On the Paradise, there is a round 8 top table right in front. Also the Spirit has an round 8 top.

The one on the Paradise is next to the hostess table. At a slow point for the hostesses and maitre d', they came over to our table and decided to join us for a few minutes.

Like Hoosiercouple mentioned...the 2-tops are so close together...you can choose to have a conversation with your neighbors or not. It was fun meeting new people each night. We were on the Freedom too. Destiny was set up the same way.

I really really like to go and eat whenever we're ready. We had to wait a couple times...but no big deal at all.
