dishealth11 Posted April 8, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2005 Cruise for families with kids leaving from NY? I think NCL and Carnival are the only ships that have real programs for children, but which is the better line? I've heard that Carnival is more chaotic and not as upscale--I haven't checked prices yet. NCL it appears does not have a large kid population, and to me that's ok. The ports of call are not really that important as we just want to get away.
familycruzer Posted April 8, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 8, 2005 Take the Voyager of the Seas out of Bayonne NJ. The kids will love the ship and the 9 day Caribbean has a great itinerary.

QUOTE] Royal Caribbean and Princess also have childrens programs - very good ones! We have done RCI and now are going to try Princess. With both these lines, you can let the kids stay aboard in the kids program while you go ashore at port. I am pretty sure NCL doesn't allow that and once we tried it I loved it. I don't really want to drag my kids with while shopping in St. Thomas or where ever!
