I have been looking for hotels in Tampa for the night before our cruise. Most of the better hotels show no availability. Anyone know what might be going on in Tampa around that time or is it just to early to be looking?

What are you using to search? If it's orbitz or something like that, it doesn't mean there are no hotel rooms available, just none at their rates. I booked my Tampa pre-cruise hotel thru Priceline. Right after my winning bid, I checked around for pricing thru search engines and they all showed no rooms available. But if I went to the hotel website directly, they had rooms available. Try going direct or thru Priceline. Happy Sailing!

Agree with 1cruiselvr. I'll bet there is availability on every hotels own website. Decide where you want to stay and take a look.

 

If price is deciding factor, you are probably too early. My guess is you will have success on Priceline for your date, I just think you need to wait a bit, like until October or November. Make a cancellable reservation now if you feel you must, then relax.

I booked my December 05 hotel room in January 05 without a problem on PL. I personally believe, the earlier you try to book, the better on PL.....read up on how to bid by going to http://www.biddingfortravel and then go for it.

Good for Tampa/ St Petersburg economy,,, it's the Eukanuba National Dog Show that weekend. Last year, I do believe events start on Friday, with the "contestants" start to arrive on Thursday. Good luck finding a hotel/motel at a reason rate.
