One other thing. You will be Elite if you contact Captain's Club before you go.

When we went to Hawaii on the Summit there were not many kids (Grand daughter was 11). She enjoyed the kids club with less then 200 kids on board they got alot of attention.

There was a lot of 20 somethings on board that time. It was a collage group going to see some valcanoes and sea life. I sort of got adopted by some of them in the night club on a couple of nights. (I use a scooter and was in my early 50's). We did the Chicken dance and the Margitas one. They formed a box around me so no one would knock me down. They did the chicken dance on slower speed for me. It was great. I kept in touch with one girl until was graduated two years later and moved to Flordia for a reserch project/team. She got married the same day as my daughter.

Being that I am a big fan of cruising (and don't feel like committing fraud!), I now think that sharing is out of the question. I've just never had a drink package before, and wasn't sure of the parameters. What if both my girlfriend and I have the package, do we both need to order? Or can one person just use both cards? Thanks for the info!

So I held a room for the 4/28/12 sailing of the Summit, because it's a deal that I just can't pass up. I am noticing that most of you are citing a lack of activity/nightlife. I am very interested in the wine and martini bars, also, I like to spend time in the casino, and have some drinks after dinner. I don't need to stay out until 3:00 am, nor do I intend to, but I hope that the ship doesn't shut down after midnight. Has anyone noticed if there are nightclubs that stay open later, or live music that is open later? Anything like a piano bar, maybe?

Thanks for all the advice again!

Hi! My fiance and I ( both in our early 30's) are cruising the Eclipse end of December and posted a very similar question a few weeks ago to yours! And I too received the one answer reply from Leeroy lol!

We seem to be looking for exactly what you also have in mind for your cruise and have the exact same apprehentions! We honestly contemplated cancelling Celebrity and booking with another cruise line after researching a little more into the age demographics, but we have decided to stick with Celebrity and give it a try! Even if there ends up being no real night life , from what we've read, we'll for sure get a beautiful ship, great food and a relaxing time! Can't go wrong with that!

If you can hold off your payment for a few weeks, I will post a review on my thoughts when we get back!

To the OP, good for you to take all our advice about the drink packages kindly, it was meant to be helpful to you re: planning for your cruise. If you and your GF both have drink packages, you'll be able to get 2 drinks and carry them away if you have both room cards with you (the package you have will be noted on your card and will also be in the computer,) Plus, you'll probably find that waiters and bartenders get to know you quickly, and often don't need to see your cards. In the DR, the sommelier will also get to know you, and wll make recommendations for wines based on your menu choices for the evening. You also don't need to get a full glass , he/she will bring you as much as you want (personally, I can't drink 4-5 full glasses with dinner after a couple of martinis before!) We loved the premium packages, it gave our cruises an elegant, all inclusive feel.
